Founder Carlos Martin has designed and built public and private exterior spaces throughout the D.C. region for 30 years. His landscape projects are recognized for a visionary approach, mindful eco-friendly designs & technical excellence.
Carlos attributes his inspiration in landscaping to growing up in his native Colombia and his extensive world travels. His horticultural knowledge began with very hands-on experience under the extraordinary gardening tutelage of his Mother. She believed in the utility of Earth’s rawest elements: stone, water, fire and terra firma.
Carlos envisions simplicity as the essence of good design, while creating and maintaining outdoor spaces for his clients to enjoy and make a life time of memories.
Margaret Rubino
A native Washingtonian, Margaret has been designing private and residential gardens in the area for 33 years. An aesthetic informed by a childhood growing up in Europe, and today as a French antiques dealer in business as Room+Gardens on the side, Margaret is known for “crossing the threshold” between home and garden.
Margaret’s signature designs focus on seasonal changes, planning for the winter bones of the garden as well as the bursts of full bloom & variety of texture to animate the garden year round. Sight lines from the house are key in organizing the garden layout to achieve beauty and practicality.
Her self-taught naturalism features big blocks of material to balance the rigor of a design-plan with the exuberance of plant life. Expect an organic experience with personalized design and services that provide durability and value in a landscape you can take pride in. Margaret makes sure the plan comes to life.
